BEAR RIVER HIGH SCHOOL ART CLUB

ARTICLE I NAME
The name of this organization shall be known as Bear River Art Club.

ARTICLE 11 PURPOSES
The purposes of this organization are:
1. To provide a smooth transition from high school art education to university or
professional practice.
2. To raise and maintain a high standard of quality art education on campus and in the
community.
3. To gain greater insight and perspective about the learning of art and contemporary
concepts in art education.
4. To sponsor service projects such as exhibitions, speakers, etc.
5. To promote an exchange of ideas in art education.
6. To enlist future students from high school, promoting as a career both art education and
other areas of art.

ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership in this chapter shall be open to all Bear River High School students
enrolled in art courses at Bear River High School.
Section 2. Members shall be required to maintain the minimum grade average required by
the school for club membership (2.0 GPA).
Section 3. Members shall be required to contribute in time and labor to the promotion of art
education on campus and in the community.
Section 4. A member loses membership by conduct unbecoming a Bear River High School
student. i.e excessive unexcused absences or tardies, or misbehavior during guest
artist or on field trips
Section 5. Members shall be required to contribute $1.00 in dues per year. These dues are
the sole responsibility and property of Bear River High School Art Club.

ARTICLE IV OFFICERS
Section 1. The officers of this organization shall be, President (Sr.), Vice President
(President Elect, Jr.) and Secretary (Art Show Director, Sr.)
Section 2. The President, and Secretary shall both be Seniors, active in the organization at
least three quarters prior to assuming office. The Vice President will be a Junior,
active in the organization at least three quarters prior to assuming office. The
Vice President is Pres. Elect.
Section 3. The duties of the officers shall be as follows:
A. The President will be the presiding officer of the organization. The President
will:
• Call to order all meetings.
• Help organize and direct field trips.
• Help organize and plan programs and events for the school year with
advisors.
B. The Vice President will directly assist the President and assume his/her
responsibilities, when that officer is absent. The Vice President shall assume the
responsibilities of membership coordinator (check eligibility and recruit).

C. The Secretary (Art Show Director) will directly assist the President and Vice President. They will be in charge of collecting, recording and depositing dues. They will also organize and direct the Student Art Show at the end of the school year.
Section 4. Officers for the following year shall be elected the first meeting of the third quarter. Nominations will be made from the four. Only members in good standing will participate. All dues must be paid for the school year to be a member in good standing. The school year starts at the beginning of school and runs through the summer.

ARTICLE VI MEETINGS
Section 1. Regular meetings shall be held on a monthly basis as specified by the chapter.
Meeting dates will be posted on bulletin boards throughout the Art department
and elsewhere on campus and should (if possible) be announced in classes.
Section 2. Special meetings may be called by the executive committee.
Section 3. Enrichment hours will be one per trimester.

ARTICLE VII
Section 1. This constitution or parts thereof may be amended at any meeting proceeded by a
presentation of proposed changes to all members and by a two thirds majority
vote of all members.
Section 2. Bylaws may be adopted, amended and repealed at any meeting by a majority of
members present.
