NHS plans to sponsor three organizations this school year. 100% of our donation goes to the organization; there are no administrative costs involved in our sponsorships.
Huntsman Cancer Institute
We plan to assemble patient care packages for patients after school in the cafeteria on Monday, March 15. These include blankets, bottled water, notebooks, pencils, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, crossword puzzle books, coloring books, crayons, hats, music CD’s, etc. If anyone would care to donate items or money, please contact Mrs. Newman or any officer. We plan to visit the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City on Monday, April 19, one of our spring vacation days. If you’d like to come, contact mrs. Newman or any officer.
Zambia Scholarship Fund, Peg Hunsaker (CEO), Honeyville, Utah
We plan to pay a teacher’s wages for one year, write letters to students and assemble a school supply package for Chilubanama Middle School. Supplies include pencils, crayons, notebooks, children’s books, jump ropes, balls, maps, individually wrapped candies, rulers, scissors, etc. If you would care to donate items or money, please contact Mrs. Newman or any officer.
Central Asia Institute, Greg Mortenson (CEO), Bozeman, Montana
Mr. Mortenson has privately built 81 schools in Afghanistan. We plan to make a donation earmarked for a teacher’s wages in a Muslim girls’ school. Please read the New York Times bestselling novel for 2009, Three Cups of Tea, for more information about this project.
