USOPE Utah Society of Professional Engineers

The Utah Society of Professional Engineers is pleased to announce that it will be offering a $1,000 scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year. Please visit the USOPE web page at www.uspeonline.com to download the requirements and a scholarship application. Susan M. Hamos Memorial Scholarship

*$500 scholarship awarded directly to the candidate

*Must be graduating girls

*Must have high academic potential

*Must have a sincere desire to complete a college curriculum.

*Must have a financial need

Application deadline April 1, 2008

Neville and Annie Hunsaker Scholarship

 This scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to superior high school students who enroll as full-time mathematics or mathematics education majors.

The winners receive a cash award, typically for two years, of at least $1200 per year in addition to any four-year scholarship or tuition waiver for which the student is eligible.

Criteria:

Superior academic achievement and potential for service to society. The recipient may not concurrently have other significant cash awards.

Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation

 *Six Ream’s Food Stores Scholarships

*Two Native American Scholarships

Selection is based on four criteria:

  • Academic achievement
  • School and community service
  • Sports participation

Deadline is April 1, 2008. Return application to counseling center.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

Requirements:

Must live in Utah

Must be a high school graduate, 2008

Must be an African-American male or female

Must include official transcript, sealed & on school letterhead

Must include the requested letters of recommendation

Must complete 500-word essay

Must be received by Friday, April 4, 2008.

Rocky Mountain Gas Association

RMGA is offering one $4000 scholarship and two $2000 scholarships to graduating high school students pursuing a career in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Hydronics, Hearth or Refrigeration (HVACR).

Mountain West Center

Conway B & Elaine W Sonne Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors showing talent and potential for continued leadership. Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be attending Utah State University. Scholarship $1000-$1500 each semester for two semesters.

Applications must be received by April 3, 2008

Utah Trappers Association

 Applicants must be a high school senior with intent to enroll in a Fall 2008 college program. Packets must be complete and include an essay. Qualified applicants must have a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Must be a resident of the State of Utah.

Completed application packets must be postmarked by April 30, 2008.

National Federation of the Blind

 Scholarships range from $3000-$12,000 cash.

Any student who is blind or visually impaired.

Applications must be received by March 31, 2008.

DISTINGUISHED BUSINESS LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

Must be FBLA member.

Successful achievement of the Leader Award or America Award of the Business Achievement Awards

Must be postmarked by April 1, 2008.

CTE SCHOLARSHIP

Students seeking associated degrees or less.

Students seeking to be school teachers in CTE areas.

Must be postmarked by March 3, 2008

AMERITECH COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

This is a $1000 tuition waver scholarship to attend AmeriTech College. Must be pursuing a career in the healthcare field.

Application must be postmarked by May 15, 2008.

 ALLICANCE FOR UNITY

 Requirements:

*Parents income less than $30,000 annually

*Minimum grade-point average in high school of 2.5

*Consistent after school work history

*Evidence of good citizenship & promotion of the values of unity, civility and respect for others, as expressed in the Alliance’s mission statement (attached to application)

Applications must be received by April 30, 2008.

BOX ELDER COUNTY CREDIT UNION

 This is a $1000 scholarship given to recipient.

Given to a deserving student who will use it to help them become a better citizen and an asset to their community.

Applications must be turned into BECU by April 20, 2008.

STATE FARM HISPANIC SHOLARSHIP

 Requirements:

-Must be of Hispanic heritage

-Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident

-Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

-Plan to enroll full-time degree seeking program at two year U.S. accredited institution during the 2008-2009 academic year.

-Must apply for federal financial aid

-Must be pursuing first undergraduate or graduate degree.
