Hello Golden Spike Families, A friendly reminder of Golden Spike's Reunification tomorrow. Please be advised of the following information: May 23rd REUNIFICATION DRILL FAQs: Who can pick up my child? Anyone listed on the child’s emergency contact list. (parents, friends, relatives) There will be NO AFTERNOON BUSES on May 23rd! Students will not be able to walk home. Will we return to school after the drill? No. After you pick up your child from the reunification location, they are done for the day. What time will the drill occur? In the afternoon on May 23rd. We are advised to keep specific details private as part of practicing for an emergency/unexpected event. Where will the children be when I come pick them up? Again, we are advised to keep specific details private until the event. How will I know where to go and what time to arrive? You will receive a text, email and phone call notifying you of the drill and all details you need on May 23rd. The information will be sent to you once we have the children in our secure location. Is there anything I can do to help make this process run smoothly? YES!! Bring your valid ID. (Driver’s license, passport, ID card, Work authorization). Be patient. We have a large school, and we’ve done a lot of work to get ready and hope to have things run smoothly. But, your patience will be so appreciated. Be prepared to fill out a short Reunification card for your student(s) that attend Golden Spike. WHY are we having this drill? All schools in BESD have been asked to practice the reunification process each year. We want to be prepared as a staff to keep your children safe no matter the circumstances. What if I do not want my child to participate in the reunification drill? Early Pick-up Option: If you do not wish to participate in the drill, you are welcome to pick up your student early.
